Repair and Maintenance Technician
Community Living St. Catharines is recruiting for the following position:
Position: Repair and Maintenance Technician – Full-time
Posting Date: Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
Program: Maintenance Department
Reporting to the Property Manager and working in collaboration with the Purchasing and Maintenance Coordinator, the incumbent will be assisting with the maintenance and repairs of all agency buildings (including residential homes, office building and related locations), including but not limited to:
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and Fire Code standards for buildings and residential homes
• Perform maintenance and repairs as identified in work orders
• Site inspection to identify repairs as needed and/or safety related hazards to ensure safety of persons supported and meet safety standards
• Assist in the annual Building Maintenance Plan schedule for buildings, equipment, vehicles
• Minor plumbing and electrical: toilets, faucets, fix leaks, outlets, switches, fixtures
• Experience with minor repairs: doors, install lock sets, broken tiles, painting, drywall repairs, window screens, furniture repairs
• Experience with residential property maintenance: snow shoveling, mulching, seeding, plants trees, maintaining trees on property
• Troubleshoot minor broken appliances; fridges, dishwasher, stoves, washer/dryer
• Experience with renovation installations: laminate flooring, doors, windows, trim, sinks, faucets
• Assist with vehicle maintenance including appointment scheduling
• Ability to move furniture (residential), and/or office furniture when required
• Experience with coordination of work projects, including oversight for external contractors
• Experience in providing back-up supervision/support to the Property Manager and Custodian
• Adhere to Confidentiality Policy and Codes of Conduct.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in the field or repairs, maintenance, and/or construction,
• Minimum education of high school required and a post-secondary education in a related field is an asset (small repairs and maintenance or equivalent proven hands-on experience)
• Knowledge and understanding of Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, Skills Development health and safety standards and application of same
• Valid G Driver’s License with clean driver abstract
• Minimum $1 million liability insurance (use of own vehicle may be required at times)
• Successful completion of a Vulnerable Police Check
• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure
• Ability to lift weighted items up to maximum of 100 lbs./46 kilograms
• Working from Heights Certification (an asset)
• Ontario certified safety boots is required
• Completion of the Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness Certificate (see below)

Hours of Work: Forty (40) hours per week, 8:00AM – 4:00PM
Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends and on-call, when required.
Salary: $26.00 - $28.00 Based on Experience and Education.
