MedicAlert Connect Protect is now in Niagara!

May 30, 2018

A new way to protect our most vulnerable!

This one-of-a-kind service was launched in 2015 and is now available in Niagara.  MedicAlert Connect Protect gives emergency responders and healthcare providers quick and secure 24/7 access to vital information on vulnerable persons.

In 2013 the Niagara Regional Police launched a “Registry for people with Autism” in partnership with the Niagara Chapter of Autism Ontario

During the past year, Autism Niagara, the Niagara Regional Police and numerous community partners have worked together to update and expand the Autism Wandering Registry to include people with intellectual disabilities and other vulnerable persons such as those with Alzheimer’s and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

Now, the Niagara Regional Police has joined forces with the MedicAlert Foundation Canada to better manage the registry.  MedicAlert Connect Protect gives police officers 24 hour access to a Medic Alert registered subscriber’s photo, identity, past wandering history and other vital emergency information through their Medic Alert ID.
