This week we are talking about Coping With Separation When You Live Far Away From Friends and Family.

The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly taken it's toll on many aspests of our lives, especially when it comes to requiring near isolation in order to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.  Most of us crave face-to-face human interaction, and that seems to have become more aparent as the months have dragged on.  Even though we cannot get together with our friends and loved ones, there are a few ways to still stay connected.

CONNECT WITH LOVED ONES  {}    DEAL WITH LONLINESS    {}    PLAN FOR THE FUTURE

1. Embrace technology; texting, weekly zoom calls, voice messages or a well-thought and heartfelt email can lift your spirits

2. Meet your neighbours, take the opportunity to connect with those around you that you may have not before.

3. Remind yourself that "this too shall pass".

4. Give yourself small things to look forward to each day, like a scheduled time to look up an interest, or indulge in a favourite coffee.

5. Make plans for the future, "when this is all over, I look forward to..." Keep positive and forward thinking.
